Starting a new journey

Welcome to my new blog. I have been on quite the journey this past year and one of my goals for 2019 is to document what comes ahead for me. After 52 years, I think I have finally figured out who I am, what I believe in and how I want to live the rest of my life. The biggest change I have made in 2018 is loosing over 60 pounds and completely changing what food I eat, how I feel about food and how I treat my body. Back in March of 2018 I heard from a co-worker, at WSU Cougar Health Services, that she was doing this program called Code Red created by Idaho native Cristy “Code Red” Nickels. She had already lost 10 pounds and was really excited about how easy it was and how good she felt. So I jumped on board, bought the Code Red Revolution book and started the program with my husband Dave. (I’ll have another post all about our Code Red journey later!) Nine months later I have gone from a size 16/XXL to a size 8/medium!

I have rediscovered how fun it is to shop for clothes that fit and are fashionable. I have also noticed how different I feel on the inside…happy and content. I am being more social, have renewed my relationship with my hubby and have reached out to old friends and made new ones.

I plan to share my new and updated fashion sense, health tips, advice from friends and family, my art and our families highs and lows. SO, if you are so inclined, please join me on this journey and feel free to contact me to share any of your own life lessons!

Cheers! Karen
